Frequently Asked Questions
- Why does SGW Designworks offer so many different types of services?
- Although the families of services we offer may seem unrelated, we have found that we can use similar problem solving methods for the development of new products (including medical devices), defining manufacturing processes, and driving infrastructure projects.
- How much does it cost to work with SGW Designworks?
- The price of our services varies by project. We generally prefer to speak with our clients to understand their needs, and then put together proposals defining the work we will complete, and the price. We often take a staged, milestone based approach to our work and billing. We are also able to work hourly, weekly, or monthly when appropriate. Call us or send us an e-mail, and we will put together a proposal for you based on your needs.
- If I get SGW Designworks involved to develop my product idea, do they automatically own some of the intellectual property?
- No. SGW Designworks exists to help our clients succeed with their ideas, not to take ownership away from them. We do not automatically own any rights to your product, or profit from your product unless specifically negotiated and documented.
- How do I know SGW Designworks will not steal my idea?
- We have certainly heard horror stories about inventors presenting a concept idea to a big company, only to have it turned down. A year later, the inventor finds that the big company is selling a nearly identical product. Our services are designed to help protect your idea. We can document your ideas and designs and help you avoid common patent pitfalls. Our intent is to help our clients succeed, not to succeed at the expense of our clients. In addition, we are happy to sign non-disclosure agreements.
- What kinds of product ideas does SGW Designworks work on?
- We have found that we are able to service clients in nearly any industry. Though the products, processes, and outputs vary the general scope of needs is surprisingly consistent. If development of your concept requires expertise that we just cannot offer, we will be up front with you about it, and point you in the right direction.
- What does SGW stand for?
- SGW Designworks was founded by Tasche Streib, Ryan Gray, and Mike Witt.
