Concept to manufacturing

We have found that businesses often have a number of great ideas, but do not have the time or capacity to properly develop them into new products. SGW Designworks acts as a product engineering department that clients are able to rely on for new product design, product engineering, and product prototype services without the need to hire a full time development engineering staff. We have the capability to take on your product design project, so that you can focus on growing your business. From concept design through design for manufacturing, we have the experience to guide you.

Any product, any industry

SGW Designworks is capable of addressing needs for any product in any industry. Our projects often include shape development, embedded systems development, mechanical design / engineering, and manufacturing hand-off. We have brought significant value to clients developing products that range from innovative tactical equipment to specialty electronics. Our clients are manufacturing products all over the world, including the US, China, Malaysia, India, and Mexico. We can help you determine how and where your product should be manufactured.

Functionality, creativity, reality

SGW Designworks applies a unique combination of creative problem solving, market sense, and production experience to produce beautiful solutions to every challenge presented to us, from product engineering to product prototyping. Let us maximize the functionality and minimize the cost of your new product with our creative product engineering approaches. We help our clients make intelligent design trade-off decisions to develop concepts into a marketable, viable, manufacturable product.

Lean Development Approach

Product engineering and product prototype projects can be complex. Some clients prefer to tackle the entire new product development process in a single step while others prefer to execute the project in stages or phases. A typical product development project includes initial conceptual design, rapid prototyping, design iteration and functional engineering, functional prototyping, design for manufacture, and manufacturing planning. We apply a Lean Principles to development, and were featured in The Lean Startup by Eric Ries. The approach is proven to reduce development risk and time.
