Marketing
These items are used to deliver advertising that is more relevant to you and your interests. They may also be used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. Advertising networks usually place them with the website operator’s permission.
Analytics
These items help the website operator understand how its website performs, how visitors interact with the site, and whether there may be technical issues. This storage type usually doesn’t collect information that identifies a visitor.
Personalization
These items allow the website to remember choices you make (such as your user name, language, or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, more personal features. For example, a website may provide you with local weather reports or traffic news by storing data about your current location.

02.

Industrial Design, UI/UX

We are bringing new things into the world. Those things must coexist and positively impact whoever comes in contact with them.

Shape Development

  • Forms and Surfacing

  • Color, Material and Finish

  • Ergonomics and anthropomorphics

User Interface (UI)

  • GUI development

  • Tactile and physical interaction

  • Design for ease-of-use

User Experience (UX)

  • Human-centric design

  • Wireframes

  • User testing and studies

03.

Product Engineering

Winning comes when a team works together. A tight team shares knowledge and decision analysis to drive the deeper success metrics of manufacturability, durability, and quality.

Mechanical Engineering

  • Enclosure design

  • Mechanism development

  • Power and drive systems

Electronics Engineering

  • PCBA development

  • Battery and power system design

  • Microprocessor and component selection

Firmware & Software Engineering

  • Embedded firmware development

  • iOS and Android app development

  • C++, C#, Python, and more

04.

Prototyping

Good products go through multiple cycles of prototyping, testing, and iterating throughout the development process.

Functional Prototypes

  • Low fidelity or high fidelity

  • Hand built, 3D printed, machined

  • Tests how a design or subsystem works

Trade Show Prototypes

  • Premium look and feel

  • Functional enough for pre-sales

  • Perfect for customer feedback

Communication Prototypes

  • Representative of the final product

  • May be fully or partially functional

  • Great for investors or stakeholders

What we can do for you:

01.

Enclosure Design

Our mechanical engineering team develops enclosures ranging from low-cost injection molded plastic assemblies to complex IP-rated assemblies that incorporate mechanisms and electronics. Our engineers are experienced with sealing design, latching, designing for durability, and integrating with electronics. Enclosures of any size are possible, from enclosures for large industrial equipment to enclosures for small IoT products.

02.

Ruggedization

Design for durability is a specialty at SGW Designworks. Know how to design a living hinge that will last 1 million cycles? Our mechanical engineers do. Know how to design a bolt system with self-cleaning geometry? We do. Our product engineers consider materials, geometry, use-cases, and more to ensure that the product lives up to the expectation.

03.

Design for Manufacture and Assembly

Almost everything we work on ultimately needs to be manufactured. Our mechanical engineers have depth not only in product design, but also in machine design and manufacturing. That means we are equipped to design products that easy to produce, and our engineers are accustomed to collaborating with the manufacturer to align the mechanical design to their proicesses and equipment.

04.

FEA, FMEA

In addition to traditional mechanical engineering analysis, we use state of the art tools for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA). FEA allows us to simulate how a part will behave under specific conditions. FMEA allows us to predict what sets of circumstances may lead to failues, so we can design to eliminate them.

05.

Machine Design

We design a wide range of machines for clients. This includes bespoke manufacturing equipment, specialty machines for R&D labs, and even testing machines for our own internal use. Our mechanical engineers apply our product development process to machine design projects, ensuring a disciplined approach that prioritizes the highest-risk system elements.

06.

Electronics Packaging

In a product design project, it is common for the electronics engineers and the mechanical engineers to have competing priorities. Our mechanical engineers take a holistic view, actively collaborating to develop the best electronics packaging solution possible within the product constraints.
