How pre-compliance fits the program
- Design reviews for layout, grounding, filtering, and shielding
- In-house pre-compliance scans on prototype hardware
- Troubleshooting and design fixes when problems appear
- Preparation for formal testing at accredited labs
- Support during formal testing and any follow-up changes
Designing to pass the first time
Compliance starts in PCB design and layout, with stackup, return paths, and component placement that keep noise contained. Power electronics and cables are common sources of emissions, so we pay close attention to both.
Wireless products
Products with radios have additional requirements. We coordinate antenna integration with the enclosure and board so RF performance and compliance are addressed together. Pre-compliance testing is part of our electrical engineering services.
Frequently asked questions
Can SGW certify my product?
No. Formal certification testing is done at accredited labs. We run pre-compliance testing in house and support you through formal testing.
What is the difference between pre-compliance and compliance testing?
Pre-compliance uses in-house equipment to find likely problems during development. Compliance testing is formal testing at an accredited lab against the applicable standards.
Can you help if our product already failed formal testing?
Yes. We can review the lab results, reproduce the problem in house where possible, and recommend design fixes.
Do you work on products designed by other teams?
Yes. We can run pre-compliance testing and design reviews on hardware you have developed.
