What our PCB design work includes
- Schematic capture and component selection with availability and cost in mind
- Stackup definition and layout up to 16 layers
- High-speed routing and signal integrity considerations
- Power distribution, power conversion, and thermal relief
- Antenna and RF keep-out coordination for wireless products
- Design for manufacturing, test points, and assembly
- Fabrication and assembly packages, including Gerbers, drill files, and BOMs
Layout and the enclosure
Many board problems are really packaging problems. Connectors that do not line up with openings, tall components that collide with ribs, and hot parts placed far from any heat path all show up when the first prototype is assembled. We avoid them by developing the board outline and the enclosure together, sharing 3D models between electrical and mechanical design as the layout evolves.
Designing for compliance and production
Good layout practice reduces emissions and susceptibility problems before testing begins. We review layouts with FCC and CE requirements in mind, run pre-compliance testing in house, and support formal testing at accredited labs. On the production side, we design with your assembler's capabilities in mind and support first builds so issues are caught early.
Frequently asked questions
How many layers can you design?
We design boards up to 16 layers. Most products need far fewer, and we recommend the simplest stackup that meets performance and cost targets.
Can you lay out a board from an existing schematic?
Yes. We can take your schematic into layout, or review and update it first if components or requirements have changed.
Do you work with our contract manufacturer?
Yes. We prepare fabrication and assembly files to your manufacturer's requirements and support questions during the first builds.
Do you handle RF board layout?
We take on selected RF work, particularly antenna integration and keep-out planning for wireless products. Tell us about your RF requirements and we will let you know whether they fit our experience.
