What we analyze
- Drop and impact loads on housings, bosses, and latches
- Vibration response of frames, brackets, and mounted equipment
- Stress and fatigue in structures that see repeated loading
- Board mounting and component support inside electronics enclosures
- Fastener, joint, and weld loads
Turning results into better designs
Analysis is only useful if it changes the design. We use results to adjust wall thickness, ribbing, materials, and joint design, and to choose isolation or stiffening strategies for mounted equipment. For electronics, we work with our electrical team on board supports, connector strain relief, and heavy component placement. See our rugged enclosure design work for more.
Validation and standards
Where products must pass specific tests, we design to them from the start, including MIL-STD-810 methods, and support testing at qualified outside labs. Shock and vibration analysis is part of our mechanical engineering services for both products and equipment.
Frequently asked questions
When should we run shock and vibration analysis?
Early, once the architecture is defined. Analysis is most valuable before tooling, when changes are still inexpensive.
Does analysis replace physical testing?
No. Analysis finds weak points and guides design changes, and physical testing confirms performance. Used together, they reduce test failures and redesign loops.
Can you analyze an existing product that is failing in the field?
Yes. We can review field failures, model the likely loads, and recommend design changes that address the root cause.
Do you work on large equipment as well as small products?
Yes. We apply the same approach to handheld devices, vehicle-mounted electronics, and agricultural and industrial equipment.
