What we design
- Automation cells and material handling equipment
- Mechanisms, linkages, and motion systems
- Robotic end-of-arm tools and fixturing
- Frames, guarding, and structural weldments
- Test fixtures and production tooling
Engineered for uptime and service
We verify loads, stiffness, and fatigue with engineering analysis, design fabricated structures with our sheet metal and weldment experience, and integrate motors, sensors, and controls as electromechanical systems. Access for maintenance and adjustment is designed in from the start.
From concept to build
We can take a machine from concept through detailed design, or add engineering capacity to an existing program that needs to deliver on schedule. Machine design is part of our mechanical engineering services, and our agricultural equipment design work applies the same approach in the field.
Frequently asked questions
Can you help when our internal team is at capacity?
Yes. On our robotic palletizing project, SGW reviewed the client's concept, confirmed the schedule was achievable, and engineered the system so the client could deliver on time.
Do you integrate controls and sensors?
We integrate motors, sensors, vision systems, and encoders into the mechanical design and coordinate with your controls engineers or integrator.
Do you design for operator safety?
Yes. We design guarding, access, and controls with operator safety in mind and work with your team on the safety standards that apply to your equipment.
Can you improve existing equipment?
Yes. We can review existing machines for reliability, throughput, cost, or serviceability problems and recommend design changes.
